VfL Osnabrück
Der VfL Osnabrück ist ein Fußballklub aus Niedersachsen, der sich bisher noch nie für die deutsche Bundesliga qualifizieren konnte. Seit jeher pendelt der Klub zwischen 2.Bundesliga und Regionalliga. Die größten Erfolge der Osnabrücker liegen bereits einige Jahre zurück. So konnte man sich etwa zwischen 1939 und 1952 viermal für die Endrunde der deutschen Meisterschaft qualifizieren. In der jüngeren Vergangenheit gewann das Team einige Regionalligameisterschaften und im Jahr 2010 die 3.Liga, wodurch man in die zweite deutsche Bundesliga aufstieg, allerdings auch postwendend wieder abstieg.
Die traditionellen Rivalen der Osnabrücker sind der SV Meppen, Arminia Bielefeld, Preußen Münster und der VfB Oldenburg. Freundschaft verbindet den VfL mit Energie Cottbus, seitdem sich Osnabrück-Spieler Flamur Kastrati in einem Spiel gegen den FC Energie schwer verletzte und die beiden Teams sich daraufhin nur noch den Ball zuschoben, um die Uhr herunter zu spielen.
